When thinking about wellness, health, & vitality, few people consider that it might require autonomy or why that would even matter. You might be wondering what the definition of autonomy is and feel perplexed at why I would talk about this regarding health. For me, autonomy is the foundation of everything I desire to inspire in others and is at the root of living a healthy state of being. Let's start at the beginning. What is autonomy? Below are a few pretty pictures with definitions I found online to make the discovery/reminder more attractive. Notice that the last picture. It is not a definition per se but was more of a point I want to make.
Many times we seek people to empower us towards a specific goal. We often join into these relationships with the full understanding that this is the purpose of the connection. One person empowers and motivates the other who is struggling. This can be a nice helpful thing that allows us to accomplish particular goals in life. Yet, when we need another to empower us, it comes from the foundation of needing power from an external source. The risk is that we will forever need that external source of motivation or we will give up on said goal as soon as that external power source is removed. Autonomous learning and exploration have a different foundation. The "teacher" is not the one in charge. In fact, in autonomous learning the student or group of students direct the entire agenda being taught. The teacher provides knowledge in the order and time the student/s desire to understand. The teacher acts as a sounding board, not as an authority that needs the respect and acquiescence of the students. Thus the students from day one are put in the driver's seat and face reality from the get-go. If they do not seek to learn there will not be any lessons. This means there will be no growth or development. Yet, if the student desires to learn information is given so the student can play with that information until they are ready for more. When approaching our bodies this is hands down the best approach because it is the reality. If you do not seek to understand your body and what or how it is functioning you will forever be the victim of circumstances or external forces. Yet, dive into an experience of discovery where your desires, pains, and challenges lead the way and you are guaranteed to learn the best choices for your body. Even more importantly you will effortlessly make healthy choices because you will be the one connected to the choices being made. You will quickly lose the need for your teacher and begin exploration. However, interestingly enough, you will have a profound respect for your teacher that binds you to them in loving trust in their support for your growth for the rest of your life. The greatest teachers in my life taught me autonomously. They allowed me the freedom to think for myself. They allowed me to make mistakes even if they ended up hurting me. They were there for me when I was ready to learn from that mistake, so I didn't make it again. They allowed me the space to choose my limitations. When I was ready, they allowed me to choose for my potential. My aim to share what I have gained comes from the deep respect and loving trust I have in those that have helped me gain what I have to offer. I seek to support the discovery of your Inner Intelligence so you can confidently make choices based on self-motivation/government and begin living a health-filled life from that foundation! From this platform, one can be seen as truly free.

AuthorThe purpose of this blog is to allow Sivani to express thoughts on Ayurveda, yoga & meditation that are not typically found when googling the topics. Sivani's deepest desire is to encourage autonomous living in all people. There are no infallible persons to whom one can turn for perfect guidance to ensure success. When it comes all the way down to it, we are each responsible for our choices regardless if others have led, will lead, or actively attempt to lead us in any direction either for our good or our destruction. Even the best-intentioned individuals make grievous mistakes. Yet, within each individual is an Infallible Source that governs all of existence. Through exploration and discovery, individuals can connect to and build a strong relationship with this Source and thus make their own choices based on their moral objectivity. Does this approach come at an expense? Potentially. But blindly following others has proven to be just as dangerous. Stimulating others to approach any and all exploration to deepen their first-hand relationship with the Inner Intelligence active within the confines of their nervous systems is Sivani's life's mission. The more this is done, the more the Inner Intelligence permeates and pervades all of creation and will be unmistakable. Archives
